2021 Heath and Safety Aaward Winners

In August, we were really pleased to hear that Cornerstone won the RoSPA award. This is a great achievement for us, showcasing our dedication to health and safety.

We caught up with our Head of Operational Compliance & Governance, Andrew Alexander, who gave us insight into achieving this award.

Can you tell us what the RoSPA awards are?

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards reward companies and people around the world for their safety performance. The annual award has nearly 2,000 entries a year from about 50 countries. It is a worldrenowned award that is recognised throughout the industry.

RoSPA’s achievements director, Julia Small, stated: “RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace.”

Why is the award important to Cornerstone?

This is a prestigious award that our health and safety and telecoms industry highly regard. As it was our first time entering, we were aiming for Gold, but as there is so much involved, it can be hard to judge if we hit the brief, so it was a proud moment for us to win.

Health & Safety at Cornerstone is critical for carrying out our work. When we visit sites, we ensure we keep our colleagues, partners, site providers and the public safe at all times. Their safety is always at the forefront of our minds. We constantly review and update our processes and procedures, and attend to any reported issues so we can improve and upgrade our best practices continuously.
