Welcome to the latest issue of Connected.
When I last wrote to you, we were in a national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we are still experiencing the uncertainties of COVID-19, it’s encouraging that we continue to get through this challenging time together. Your support is much appreciated. We understand with the new social distancing rules and processes, accessing your sites is a unique experience. We are regularly reviewing our health and safety procedures to ensure we are adhering to government guidelines, while we visit your sites to carry out essential maintenance or upgrade work. With your co-operation, we have been able to keep the UK connected, and we thank you for that.
In July this year, we saw a new campaign launch, “Speed Up Britain”, which is a cross-industry organisation, campaigning for the government to close loopholes in the Electronic Communications Code. The campaign was founded by Mobile UK, Cellnex, Cornerstone and MBNL (the organisations responsible for delivering the UK’s mobile infrastructure). Read on and find out more about the campaign on page 5 and why Cornerstone and our landlord community need to support it.
