Sharper solutions, for a more connected world.

A dynamic team and sharper thinking is creating the environment to develop innovative digital solutions for today, tomorrow and the future.

The way we connect to the world around us and how we interact is continually developing. Whether in the city or the middle of a field, having information at our fingertips has become a necessity. Network-connected devices bring important implications for the ecosystem of wired and wireless technology. We are at the heart of the infrastructure that provides the foundation for tomorrow's digital economy.

As digital connectivity and the roll-out of 5G gathers pace, Cornerstone's Delivery and Commercial Services Director Paul McCullagh shares his thoughts and explains how 5G will transform the UK.

5G Digital

Redefining our relationship with our mobile networks, 5G is the next generation.

The potential impact 5th Generation (5G) mobile networks will have on our lives will be significant. Cornerstone is at the forefront of the UK rollout for our customers O2 (Telefónica) and Vodafone.

Unlike previous generations, 5G will not merely be an upgrade but will completely redefine how mobile networks impact on the world around us. From the ability to download movies in seconds to autonomous vehicles, smart homes and smart cities.

5G Connection

The progression of Smart Cities is gathering pace. Our infrastructure is integrating new technologies and driving transformation, to improve the quality and efficiency of our lives.

5G will be an essential building block of smart cities. Low latency will allow the processing of large amounts of data quickly, enabling telecommunications companies who use our infrastructure to manage their networks more effectively, whilst monitoring demand and capacity requirement in real time.

The internet of things (IoT) covers a wide range of connected systems. Operators will be able to ‘slice’ a physical network into multiple virtual networks and deliver the right slice dependent on data requirements. Greater capacity will lead to connected technologies and people. Communicating with data from our fridges, control of autonomous vehicles, ‘critical’ scenarios such as remote medical surgery and our leisure time will all become efficient and connected with 5G digital connectivity.
