Welcome to Connected

The new name for our dedicated Landlord publication.

Coinciding with the launch of our new brand from CTIL to Cornerstone, it marks the beginning of a very dynamic phase in the mobile infrastructure market in the UK.

In the last newsletter, I talked about the changes to the Digital Economy Act, which we have experienced over the past year. We have been working hard to address some industry uncertainty on what the revised legislation means. Through your engagement, we have made progress on how the mechanics of the legislation helps improve mobile connectivity across the country. This has resulted in a number of recently agreed consensual deals with some of our landlords based on the new Code legislation. It’s a positive sign of how the Code is starting to be accepted as the way forward to conclude site deals.

In this Connected issue, you will hear from our Senior Brand and Communications Manager, Liz Gardner, about our new brand. Head of Property & Estates, Simon Oborn, discusses the importance of mobile connectivity in rural areas and our guest contributor, Ally Koehler at Vodafone, explains exactly what 5G is.

I am also pleased to share that in March, Cornerstone successfully passed the BSI ISO 9001 Quality Management System Assessment Audit. This is in addition to the four other international standards that the British Standards Institute (BSI) has accredited us for:

  • ISO 14001: 2015 Environment
  • OHSAS 18001: 2007 Health & Safety
  • ISO 22301: 2012 Business Continuity
  • ISO 27001: 2013 Information Security

We are proud to hold these accreditations as they demonstrate our commitment to:

  • Ensuring we always practice the necessary health and safety procedures
  • Risk control and information protection
  • Legal compliance
  • Continuous improvement with the required standards raised every year

Our relationship with you is very important to us. We’re keen to know your feedback and will soon be sending you a survey.  Please take the time to respond as your views will help form any future improvements we make.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for working with Cornerstone to install our mobile infrastructure on your property. We look forward to continuing our relationship in the future as we help grow our digital economy together.

Yours sincerely,

Belinda Fawcett
General Counsel and Director of Property and Estates.
