Read how Cornerstone and the Waltham Forest Council worked together to improve mobile connectivity whilst transforming the look of a local playground.
Improved access to high speed technology using masts that match the local environment are key benefits of a new initiative by Waltham Forest Council.
The telecom cabinets and masts were next to an open space in Leytonstone High Road that the Council was improving with new play equipment, seating areas and planting.
During the improvement work, the network poles and cabinets were upgraded by Cornerstone. To reflect the colours of the play equipment, the new poles, which provide 2G, 3G and 4G coverage for residents and businesses in the area, were painted in red and blue candy stripes rather than the traditional matt olive colour. The cabinets were also moved to provide more space for the play equipment.
To celebrate the playground’s opening by the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Councillor Chris Robbins CBE, the Council invited children from a local school who happily enjoyed the new look and feel of the colourful playground, while planting summer bulbs.
