Useful Information

Ascot Racecourse is ideally situated in beautiful wooded countryside adjoining Windsor Great Park and about a 50 minute drive or train journey from London. Located close to the M3, M4, M40 & M25 motorways and to London Heathrow for international visitors, Ascot offers easy access for all racegoers wherever their departure point. By Car

If you are using a Sat Nav for your journey, our address is Ascot Racecourse, High Street, Ascot, Berkshire. Our postcode is SL5 7JX.

From London & The North
M4 Junction 6 onto the A332 Windsor by-pass and follow the signs to Ascot.

From the West
M4 Junction 10 to the A329(M) signed to Bracknell and follow the signs to Ascot.

From the South & East
M3 Junction 3 onto the A332 signed to Bracknell and follow the signs to Ascot.

From the Midlands
M40 southbound, Junction 4. Take the A404 towards the M4 (Junction 8/9). On the M4 head towards Heathrow/London. Leave M4 at Junction 6 and follow the A332 Windsor by-pass to Ascot.


By Rail

If you are travelling by train, South Western Railway runs services to Ascot from Reading, Aldershot and London Waterloo. The average journey time is 27 minutes from Reading, 30 minutes from Aldershot and 52 minutes from Waterloo. The station is a 7 minute walk from the racecourse. We recommend booking your tickets in advance and visiting the South Western Railway website before you travel. Please note, Oyster and contactless cards are not valid to or from Ascot station, and queuing systems and ticket inspectors are likely to be in place at the station.


By Taxi:

The designated taxi drop off point for Ascot Racedays is Car Park 3.

For Royal Ascot, Royal Enclosure guests should be dropped off and picked up at Car Park 1 or Car Park 3. All other enclosures are directed to the taxi drop-off points at Car Park 3 and Car Park 6.

Dress Code

Royal Ascot is synonymous with sartorial elegance. This is upheld by our dress code, which invites guests to contribute to an occasion heralded as a major fashion event in its own right.

Guests must adhere to the guidance outlined on this page, choosing to follow in full a dress code they feel most comfortable with.

Ladies

  • A dress or top and skirt, with shoulder or halter neck straps (lace and chiffon fabrics are permitted, no minimum length)
  • Trouser suits are welcome and should be of matching material and colour
  • Jumpsuits should fall below the knee and comply with the above strap requirements
  • A hat, headpiece or fascinator

Gentlemen

  • A suit jacket or blazer (can be of different material to the trousers)
  • A full-length trouser or chino
  • A collared shirt
  • A necktie, bow tie or cravat (patterns of a patriotic nature, for example a national flag, are acceptable)
  • Socks must be worn and should cover the ankle

Please Note

The following are not permitted:
Dresses and tops that are:

  • Strapless or one shoulder
  • Off-the-shoulder or bardot
  • Sheer (defi ned as any type of fabric that is see-through / entirely transparent)
  • Visible midriffs (defined as the mid-region of the torso between the chest and the waist)
  • Novelty patterns and fabrics (including, for example; slogans, phrases, promotional messaging, brand logos or cartoon imagery)
  • Trainers
  • Denim
  • Leggings
  • Shorts
